UPDATE: I am currently teaching sewing private lessons (one-on-one at regular classroom price). Machines, supplies are sanitized between students. Masks are not required; however, I will be wearing one when working closely with a student. The curriculum follows standard beginner and intermediate outlined below. Adult Beginner Sewing Lessons (6 sessions, 2 hours long) $180.
All supplies and machines provided for each week’s lesson. A $30 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a spot which applied to the remaining balance due at the first session.
- Introduction to sewing machines, safety, sew a pillow, create an applique, and hand close using ladder/hidden stitch.
- Sewing project using elastic.
- Sewing project with ruffles.
- Sewing project installing a zipper.
- Final project learning/sewing from a pattern (project to be determined by student and teacher).
Adult Intermediate Sewing Lessons (6 sessions, 2 hours long) $225
All supplies and machine are provided for each week’s lesson. Student may bring their own machine. It is recommended the student have gone through the Beginner Lessons or be able to do the tasks listed in the Beginner Lessons above. A $30 non-refundable deposit required to reserve a seat, which is applied to the remaining balance that is due at first session.
First Session we will meet at JoAnns in Tyler (Field Trip!) to choose your garment pattern, fabric, thread and embellishment. Ordering cuts at the counter. We will be learning how to overlock/serge our garment pieces, darting, button holes, and other skills at the intermediate level.
Remaining sessions are at The Crafty Fox Studio in Tyler to work on your fashion project.
